Market Wrap International:

U.S. markets ended mixed as investors balanced strong corporate earnings with policy and political uncertainty. The Dow Jones gained 0.5% on upbeat results from industrial and consumer names including General Motors, 3M, and Coca-Cola, while the S&P 500 ended flat, and the Nasdaq slipped -0.2% as tech stocks faced mild profit-taking ahead of key economic data and Fed commentary.

European equities advanced slightly as improved global trade sentiment and steady earnings supported risk appetite. Gains in autos and energy offset weakness in freight and logistics, while ECB remarks on dollar-funding risks kept bank shares subdued. The FTSE 100 rose 0.2%, DAX 0.3%, CAC 0.6%, and Euro Stoxx 600 0.2%.

Asian markets outperformed on firmer sentiment driven by easing U.S.–China trade tensions and expectations of pro-stimulus policy in Japan. The Shanghai Composite gained 1.4%, Hang Seng 0.7%, Nikkei 225 0.3%, and Kospi 0.2%.
