Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities strengthened as renewed expectations for a potential Federal Reserve rate cut supported risk appetite, with softer U.S. data keeping Treasury yields contained and reinforcing the market’s dovish bias. Technology and AI-linked shares helped lead the advance, while steady Fed communication provided a stable policy backdrop throughout the session. The S&P 500 rose 0.7%, the Dow gained 0.7%, and the Nasdaq added 0.8%.

European markets moved higher in tandem with the global risk tone, supported by easing-rate expectations and broad-based strength across cyclicals and technology. With limited regional data to alter the outlook, investors continued to respond to the improved macro backdrop and firm external cues from U.S. markets. The FTSE 100 rose 0.9%, the DAX gained 1.1%, the CAC advanced 0.9%, and the Euro Stoxx 600 climbed 1.1%.

Asian equities finished mixed but overall firmer, reflecting the constructive global environment even as China-related growth concerns tempered participation. Korea and Japan outperformed on robust demand for technology and semiconductor names, while mainland China lagged amid ongoing domestic uncertainty. The SHCOMP slipped -0.2%, the Kospi surged 2.7%, the Nikkei 225 rose 1.8%, and the Hang Seng added 0.1%.
