Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Sunday, up by +105 points (+0.9%) to close at 11,772 levels. TASI began the session positively, opening with a 68-point rise, it declined during the first hours of the session, then gradually rose until the end. In general, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 162 shares rose while 61 fell. Banks (+1.0%), Materials (+1.2%), and Insurance (+2.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi National Bank ‎‎(+2.3%), Aramco (+0.7%), and Maaden (+5.3%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -15% and -24%, respectively, to reach ‎‎241mn shares and SAR5.1bn in value traded.

U.S. indices saw a decline as a weekly average, with the S&P 500 down -3.40%, the Dow Jones dropping -3.36%, and the NASDAQ falling -4.55%. This broad-based retreat highlights a period of increased market volatility. Last week, U.S. indices showed varied performance. The S&P 500 ended down 3.00%, with fluctuations including a 1.04% rise and a 2.30% gain. The Dow Jones decreased by -2.60%, with slight recoveries such as 0.76% and 1.76%. The NASDAQ fell by -3.43%, featuring a 2.87% uptick amidst its losses.

As a weekly average, European indices experienced a notable downturn, with the FTSE 100 declining by -2.12%, the DAX dropping -3.60%, the CAC 40 falling -2.73%, and the EURO STOXX 600 decreasing by -3.40%. This broad decline reflects a challenging week for European markets. Last week, European indices showed mixed results. The FTSE 100 fell by -2.04%, with a notable 1.75% gain amidst its losses. The DAX decreased by -1.82%, featuring a 1.50% rise. The CAC 40 was down -1.42%, despite a 1.91% uptick. The EURO STOXX 600 ended the week down -2.17%, with a 1.54% increase.

As a weekly average, Asian indices faced substantial declines, with the SHCOMP down -1.50%, the KOSPI falling -7.66%, and the NIKKEI 225 dropping -10.02%. The Hang Seng Index decreased by -1.90%, while the TOPIX saw the most significant drop at -10.73%. Last week, Asian indices displayed a mix of performance. The SHCOMP fell by -1.54%, with a modest 0.23% gain. The KOSPI dropped -8.77%, despite a 3.30% rise. The NIKKEI 225 was down -12.40%, featuring a notable 10.23% increase. The Hang Seng decreased by -1.46%, with a 1.38% uptick. The TOPIX declined -12.23% but saw a 9.30% gain.
