Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, falling by -33 points (-0.3%) to close at the 11,697 level. TASI opened the session down -6 points, began to rise during the first hour, and then decreased until the end of the session. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 109 shares fell and 115 rose. Utilities (-2.7%), Health care equipment and services (-2.6%), and Materials (-0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-3.6%), Sulaiman AlHabib (-3.1%), and Aramco (-0.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 42% and 68%, respectively, to reach 292mn shares and SAR8.7bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

On Monday, the U.S. stock market concluded with slight declines, with the S&P 500 down by -0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite experienced losses of -1.1%. Investors will closely monitor the core PCE deflator, which is the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure. It is anticipated to exhibit the slowest monthly growth rate this year and the slowest year-over-year pace since March 2021. 

In Europe, indices are displaying a relatively calm mostly being in the green zones. European equities were largely flat in early trading, with mining stocks weighing on gains. Investor focus was on the upcoming French parliamentary election. London's FTSE rose 0.5%, Paris CAC gained 1.0%, and Frankfurt DAX was up 0.9%.

In Asia, Asian equities are seeing declines on Monday, mirroring mixed signals from Wall Street on the previous trading day. In earlier trading in Asia, the Nikkei index in Tokyo rose by 0.5%. This gain was supported by the Japanese yen weakening against the US dollar. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index finished the day flat at 18,027. And SHCOMP index ended the day by -1.2%.
