Tadawul Review:

Tadawul Review: Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, decreasing by 46 points (-0.4%) to close at the 12,226 level. The monthly gain was 81 points (MoM: 0.7%), and year-to-date (YTD), there was a 2% increase. TASI started the session positively, opening with an increase of 21 points, but then gradually decreased until the end of the session. Overall, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 149 shares fell and 81 rose. Banks (-1.2%), Food and beverages (-2.3%), and Insurance (-2.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.0%), Saudi National Bank (-2.0%), and Aramco (-0.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 111% and 41%, respectively, to reach 1.0bn shares and SAR8.7bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Events International: 

World markets fell on Monday due to economic uncertainty driven by Middle Eastern conflicts, which countered recent policy efforts aimed at supporting the markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose slightly by 0.04%, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both increased by 0.4%.

Monday, September 30, saw a decline in European stock markets as investors took in a number of regional economic reports and the different results of the main Asian indices. The DAX dropped by -0.8%, the FTSE 100 dropped by -1%, and the CAC 40 sank by -2%.

 

Asian markets kicked off the week with significant volatility; the Nikkei 225 index in Tokyo plummeted by -4.8 percent, while Chinese markets rallied on reports of new stimulus efforts to support the weakening economy. The Hang Seng Index rose by 2.4%, while the SHCOMP saw a significant increase of 8.1%
