Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping by ‎‎151 points (-1.4%) to close at 10,925. The index opened trading 6 points above its previous close, then gradually declined until the end of the session. Overall, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 227 shares fell and 21 rose. Banks (-1.1%), Materials (-1.7%), and Real Estate (-‎‎2.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.6%), ACWA Power (-2.2%), and Aramco (-0.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 4% and ‎‎18%, respectively, to reach 209mn shares and SAR5.1bn in value traded.

 

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks rallied on Tuesday, rebounding strongly after their worst week since the initial Trump tariff threats back in April. Optimism returned as President Trump stepped back from his tariff stance on the European Union, with both sides signaling renewed momentum in trade talks. A sharp rebound in consumer confidence and a global bond rally further lifted market sentiment. Leading the gains were Semiconductors & Semiconductor Equipment, up 3.19%, Consumer Discretionary with a 3.04% rise, and Information Technology climbing 2.55%. The Nasdaq climbed by 2.5%, the S&P 500 advanced by 2.0%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 1.8%.

European shares ended higher, boosted by strong gains in defense stocks and renewed optimism after the U.S. delayed its planned tariffs on the European Union. The DAX rose by 0.8%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced by 0.3%, and the FTSE 100 increased by 0.7%. In contrast, the CAC 40 declined by 0.02%.

 

Asian stock markets traded mixed, moving within a narrow range as trading resumed after the U.S. Memorial Day holiday. While investors welcomed President Trump’s decision to delay the 50% tariff threat on EU goods, offering a brief pause in trade tensions. The Nikkei 225 increased by 0.5% and the Hang Seng advanced by 0.4%, while the KOSPI dropped by -0.3% and the SHCOMP fell by -0.2%.
