The index opened 6 points lower than its previous close and fluctuated throughout the session before closing near its previous close. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 120 shares fell and 128 rose. Real Estate (-0.9%), Food and beverages (-1.2%), and Telecommunications (-0.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-0.5%), ACWA Power (-1.2%), and Almarai (-1.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -16% and -10%, respectively, to reach 291mn shares and SAR4.9bn in value traded.
