Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose for the second day on Tuesday, gaining 114 points (+1%) to close at the 12,027 level. The index opened strong but dipped during the first before steadily climbing again as the day progressed. In general, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 111 shares rose while 116 fell. Banks (+1.8%), Real Estate (+1.9%), and Utilities (+1.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.8%), Saudi National Bank (+2.8%), and ACWA Power (+1.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value by 39% and 17%, respectively, to reach ‎‎969mn shares and SAR8.2bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

After a brief decline, U.S. equities futures increased as traders focused on upcoming inflation data to anticipate future interest rate changes from the Federal Reserve. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.3%, the S&P 500 increased by 1%, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed by 1.4%.

After a rocky start to the week due to worries over a slowdown in China's stimulus rally, sentiment in the region continued to worsen on Tuesday afternoon, which resulted in lower European markets. The CAC 40 fell by -0.7%, the DAX dropped by -0.2%, and the FTSE 100 decreased by -1.4%.

Most Asian markets declined on Tuesday, following the downturn in Wall Street due to strong U.S. job market data, which increased expectations that interest rates will stay elevated. Japan's stock market also closed lower on Tuesday, primarily driven by falling shares in the Railway & Bus, Transportation Equipment, and Precision Instruments sectors. Asian markets saw mixed performance, with key indices such as the Hang Seng falling by -9.4%, the NIKKIE 225 decreasing by -1%, and the KOSPI down by -0.6%.
