Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined on Sunday, dropping -805 points (-6.8%) to close at 11,077. The index opened 604 points lower and remained in negative territory throughout the session. Overall, all 21 sectors ended in the red, with 252 stocks declining. The Banks (-6.9%), Materials (-6.8%), and Energy (-5.3%) sectors were the main contributors to the drop. On the stock level, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.7%), Aramco (-1.4%), and ACWA Power  (-8.8%) had the most significant negative impact on the index. Trading activity saw a 60% increase in volume to 450 million shares, while the total value traded rose by 52% to SAR 8.4 billion.

 

Market Wrap International:

Markets will be closely watching two key U.S. economic events this week. On Wednesday, April 9, the FOMC Meeting Minutes will take place, offering insight into the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook. Additionally on Thursday, April 10, the March CPI (YoY) report will provide a fresh reading on inflation.

On Friday, April 11, 2025, markets will watch Germany’s March CPI (MoM) and the UK’s February GDP (MoM) for fresh signals on inflation and growth.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, key inflation data from Asia will be in focus, with Japan releasing its Producer Price Index (PPI) for March and China publishing both its Consumer Price Index (CPI) and PPI for the same month.
