The announcement sparked a broad market surge, with the S&P 500 soaring 9.5%, the Nasdaq jumping 12.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing 7.9%. Leading sector gains in the S&P 500 were Information Technology (+14.15%), Consumer Discretionary (+11.36%), and Communication Services (+10%).

European shares extended losses on Wednesday as China sharply increased tariffs on U.S. imports, deepening global trade tensions.
