Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended weighed by renewed AI-sector jitters and rising Treasury yields that prompted profit-taking in growth names, with investors also digesting mixed corporate updates and a cautious tone around Fed path expectations; financials and cyclicals showed relative resilience while large-cap technology underperformed. The NASDAQ dropped -1.7%, the S&P 500 fell ‎‎-1.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined -0.5%.

European equities ended lower as sentiment followed Wall Street’s retreat, with investors rotating out of expensive tech names and taking profits after earlier rate-cut optimism; banks and industrials lagged while defensives provided some support. The FTSE 100 eased -0.6%, the DAX lost -0.4%, the CAC 40 slipped -0.2% and the EURO STOXX 600 was down   -0.5%.

Asian markets are trading higher on broad risk-on flows into exporters and cyclicals, with chip and technology-adjacent names leading gains amid softer U.S. futures and local currency moves; Japan and Korea benefited from renewed buying interest while mainland China benchmarks firmed on selective domestic demand. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 1.4%, South Korea’s KOSPI increased 1.4%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced 1.7% and China’s SHCOMP gained 0.4%.
